Do you know what's today? Today is the 86th birthday of the great singer Lata Mangeshkar. She is certainly the best singer of Hindi cinema forever. It is said that no body can be like her. Today on her 86th birthday Shayni Foods congratulates her for her great contribution in Hindi Cinema.
Lata di was born on 28th September 1929. She has three sisters and one brother. Asha, Usha, Meena and Hridyanath are her siblings. She got her first lessons of singing and music from her father Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar. When she was 13, her father died. After her father's death she became the mother of whole family. She started to sing in the Marathi films. Her first song was 'Naachu Yaa Gade, Khelu Sari Mani Haus Bhaari' which was recorded for the film Kiti Hasaal (1942) but was eliminated in the final cut. Her first song to be displayed in the film was Mata Ek Sapoot Ki Duniya Badal De Tu' for the film Gajaabhau. In the 1950's she sang various songs composed by the leading Music directors of that period including Anil Biswas, Shankar Jaikishan, Naushad Ali, S. D. Burman, Hemant Kumar, Salil Chaudhary, Khayyam and much more.
She has won the National Award for best playback singer for the song Beeti Na Beetai Raina from the movie Parichay. Her name was included in the Guiness Book of World Records for recording highest number of songs (about 25,000).
