Today is the birthday of well known writer and poet Amrita Pritam. Shayni Foods celebrates her birthday with great enthusiasm. Amrita was born on 31 August 1919 in Gujranwala, Punjab (now in Pakistan). Her real name was Amrit Kaur. Her mother died when she was little. She wanted to write stories but her father forced her to write patriotic or devotional stories which she didn't like.

Today is 92nd birth anniversary of most famous lyricist Shailendra. His full name was Shankardas Kesarilal. He was born in Rawalpandi, on 30 August 1923. He has written several songs which are remembered as the milestones of Indian cinema. He started his career as a apprentice with the Indian Railways. Let's see how he became a lyricist.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam passes away in Shillong on 27th of July delivering his speech in India's most reputed institute IIM. He was awarded by Bharat Ratna and he has been India's president in the year 2002 to 2007. He has the credit to launch Agni Missile in Pokhran.
